Four Seniors Commit to Collegiate Athletics

Four seniors signed their National Letters of Intent to play collegiate athletics in the fall of 2019: Ashton Mares, Jacob Speaker, Mason Speaker and Matthew Tieding.

Ashton Mares, Beach Volleyball – Tulane University. Mares has been at All Saints’ for five years. She has been a member of the Varsity Volleyball team for four years and was named All-Conference in the Southwest Preparatory Conference as a sophomore. Ashton garnered multiple awards during her junior year including TAPPS 5A District 1 Most Valuable Player, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-State, Academic All-State, and was named to the 5A All-Tournament Team in leading the Saints to a TAPPS 5A State Championship. During the 2017 season, Mares finished with 83 Aces (3rd in School history for a season), 823 Digs (2nd in School history for a season), and set the School record for Kills in a season with 701. She also ranks in the top-4 in School history for career Kills, Digs, and Aces. As a senior, Ashton was named TAPPS 6A District 1 Offensive Most Valuable Player, 1st Team All-District, and Academic All-State.
 
 
Jacob Speaker, Baseball – Texas Christian University. Jacob is a Lifetime Saint and has attended All Saints’ since kindergarten. As a 4-year letterman, Jacob has played a key role in the Saints’ success as the starting shortstop as well as a relief pitcher. As a junior, he earned 2018 TAPPS Division II 1st Team All-District honors and was named the team’s Offensive Player of the Year. Jacob also received interest from University of Texas at Arlington, Yale University and Columbia University.
 
 
Mason Speaker, Baseball – Texas Christian University. Mason is a Lifetime Saint and has attended All Saints’ since Kindergarten. As a four-year letterman, Mason has anchored the Saints’ defense as the starting catcher and is a pitcher in the Saints’ starting rotation. In 2018, he earned TAPPS Division II 1st Team All-District and Academic All-State honors as well as TAPPS Division II All-District Defensive Player of the Year. Speaker was also named the team’s Defensive Most Valuable Player. Mason received additional interest from University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Tech University, Yale University and Columbia University.
 
Matthew Tieding, Baseball – Arkansas Tech University. Matthew has attended All Saints’ for five years. He is a four-year letterman who has been a dominant force in the Saints’ pitching rotation. Matthew earned 2017 Southern Preparatory Conference All-Conference honors as a pitcher. In 2018, he was named TAPPS Academic All-State and was recognized as TAPPS Division II 1st Team All-State and Division II Pitcher of the Year. He was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2018. Other offers included Hendrix College and Harding University.
