List of 7 items.

  • Visual Art

Children visit the Early Childhood Art room weekly for whole group art enrichment. Children create works of art through experimentation of different media planned around the basic elements and principles of art: line, shape, color, value, form, texture, and shape.
  • Integrated, Literature-Based, Mathematics-Visual Arts Program

Under the weekly guidance of Dr. Robin Ward, a Ph.D. mathematics educator and author, children learn about artists by viewing and discussing images of their work. Through this process, students discover and explore the mathematics embedded in or used by the artist in his/her works. The children also create an artifact (painting, sketch, collage, etc.) in the spirit of the week's artist.
  • Creative Dance

Early Childhood students participate in a weekly Creative Dance class where they channel their imagination, creativity and self expression through dance.  The children dance and dramatically act out characters to different musical pieces.
  • Music

The MusikGarten curriculum promotes musical literacy, singing and rhythmic skills, aural perception, language development, motor coordination, ensemble skills, and social interaction while awakening the child's imagination. Early Childhood music enrichment also incorporates instruments, songs, stories, and poems that align with classroom curricular themes.
