Lower School

Students learn positions, flexibility, and posture. Combinations and classical variations are taught as students progress through Lower School. All ballet students engage in recital performances.

The Lower School music curriculum is a dynamic program that builds on foundational skills as well as creativity and collaboration. Students explore a variety of musical styles through singing, playing instruments, and rhythmic activities. Lessons incorporate music theory, composition, and cultural appreciation, allowing children to connect music with their own experiences. Group performances encourage teamwork and self-expression. With a focus on developing listening skills and musical literacy, the curriculum aims to inspire a lifelong love of music and an understanding of its role in the world.

Lower School Art students will develop and enhance their awareness and understanding of art history, appreciation, vocabulary, techniques, and mediums.  Students will develop  fine motor skills and creativity while building their confidence as artists and critical thinkers. The knowledge and skills students will gain in Lower School will lay the foundation for a deeper study of art when they move on to the Middle School level.
